Overview: We’re seeking an experienced mortgage professional to assume a hands-on operations role, responsible for processing, underwriting, and closing mortgage loans. This position replaces a leadership-level departure, so we’re seeking someone confident, efficient, and capable of managing files from approval through closing — all while maintaining compliance and delivering an excellent member experience. You’ll work with a mix of portfolio loans, brokered loans through established wholesale partners, and construction lending. Key Responsibilities:
Review and clear loan conditions in a timely and accurate manner
Underwrite loans according to Fannie Mae guidelines, credit union policies, and broker partner requirements
Prepare, balance, and finalize Closing Disclosures (CDs) and closing packages
Ensure all mortgage activity is in full compliance with HMDA reporting requirements
Manage pipeline workflows to meet member expectations and closing deadlines
Partner with originators, brokers, title companies, and internal stakeholders to keep files moving
Maintain up-to-date and complete documentation in the Calyx LOS
Identify and escalate any red flags or compliance concerns
Provide support for construction lending workflows, including draw schedules and inspections
Assist with post-closing and QC
What We're Looking For:
5+ years of mortgage experience in processing and/or underwriting
Proficient understanding of Fannie Mae guidelines
Familiarity with construction and portfolio lending practices
Strong knowledge of HMDA reporting rules and general mortgage compliance
Proficiency with Calyx or similar loan origination systems
Comfortable working across multiple channels (portfolio, brokered, construction)
Organized, detail-focused, and highly responsive
Excellent communication skills — especially when working with originators and third parties
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines
